I spend a fairly good portion of my life sitting around telling and hearing stories. In my experience, everyone had two stories that they love to share. The first is the story of their car accident. This works on all levels. People love to talk about cheating death, and on the rare occasion that they've never been in a car accident or never owned a car, then they fall into the second category of story ownership: tooth pulling. Either they've ripped them out using a string tied to a doorknob, or they've had (at least) six impacted wisdom teeth they had cut out and then drove home under the influence of heavy gas.
