Tape Store Scam

It used to be hard to find the latest All or Doughboys tapes at the local music shop. It was one of those independent stores where the tapes cost about a dollar less if you paid cash instead of a credit card. I didn't realize it was an independent store. I didn't even know there were corporations yet -- I was too young. If I had known, I would have discouraged my friends from the practice of hiding the latest tapes  in different sections in the store until we could save up enough cash to return and buy them. Doughboys would be under Hall & Oates in Smooth Rock; All would be under Belinda Carlisle. Most of the time we would never save up enough money, or we would forget where they were hidden and they would go unsold. I guess I should just be glad we didn't shoplift all the tapes.
