Generally Pretty Outstanding and Good

I hadn't gotten a physical in well over a decade. The last one was likely for my senior year of high school when I played on my school's first tennis team in over 20 years not to make the state meet. My physical went well, or I think it did. I had a rather hard time understanding my doctor's British accent, but he laughed and joked a lot, so I'm guessing from him mood that things were good. He said, "You're health is generally pretty outstanding." But what does "generally pretty outstanding" actually mean? If it were outstanding, wouldn't you just say, "It is outstanding." By saying "generally pretty outstanding" it's like saying it's "good" in a way that makes you feel better about yourself.
