Email Sorting

There's something satisfying in going through piles of emails and deleting all of them without bothering to open them. The only thing better would be having an email address but never giving it to anyone. You'd have to send yourself an email from time to time, just to make sure it's still working, but that's it. Returning to work from a long vacation means a day of sorting emails, but really, how many of them end up requiring your response? In my experience it's very few. Most of the issues were resolved while you were away, and people emailed you knowing you were out, but they wanted to you know what had happened. There's very little value in these emails. My advice is to delete everything and if there's something important, those people will follow up with you when they know you're back. It's a real timesaver.
