I love to revisit old music, to listen to bands I used to be really into. When I used to take long drives by myself, I'd reach into my CD case in the dark and pop in whatever CD I'd happened to grab and listen to at least a couple songs. Of course, going to see bands live that you once thought were great doesn't hold up the same way. For one, you can't just listen to a few of their songs and then turn them off. Plus, even though you stopped paying attention, they've been evolving and making all kinds of new music and taking chances, and though the music might be fine for someone else, it almost always falls short on a personal level. Plus you have to come into contact with younger people who are at their peak of listening to this band, and it's a reminder of how stupid you used to be.

Old Favorite Bands
