Once in a while I'll walk back to my desk and catch my boss talking to me. She'll have been under the impression that I was sitting right behind her at my desk listening to her the entire time. She'll notice that I wasn't there when I walk back of course, and she'll tell me what I missed. But I find myself wondering about the times that I don't walk back to my desk. The times she shares something with me that I never actually heard. And sometimes in meetings, she'll bring something up that I'm supposed to be working on, and I'll have no idea what she's talking about. It sounds like an inconvenience, but it's nice to have a handy reason for not having my work done: I never knew about it.
