Getting Lost on the Job

At one of my old jobs I went out skiing with some co-workers a month after moving to a new town. On an unfamiliar mountain they dropped me with their superior skills and I was lost for a bit. I never panicked, and I knew that no matter where I went, as long as I kept going downhill I'd find the road and salvation. I ended up finding them about 15 minutes later. We told our other coworkers about the incident, and my boss later confided in me that after hearing it she'd had nightmares about me being lost. It was a touching thing to say to a new employee, and it endeared me to her and the shop. Then again, she never paid me a livable salary, and she seemed to sleep fine content in that knowledge. Her worries were a bit misplaced.
