The Absent Minded Professor

One of my college professors would wear very inconspicuous clothing items each week, things like big jade necklaces or woven capes. The first couple times someone in class asked what was up with his outfit, and he would launch into a half-hour long explanation of the cultures and customs of the place where he acquired this piece. It might sound like an interesting way to learn, but the truth is that he was just bragging about his vacations. It didn't take long until we stopped asking about his clothing, and I can tell you there are few things sadder than a grown man walking around campus in a tribal mask and not being asked about it.
