Teacher Cop-Out
In middle school we once spent several weeks on a project. We each had to select a song, then play it (off CD) for the class and explain what it "meant." If you're a teacher and want a few weeks off, this is a great project to keep in your back pocket. We did it right when the movie Forest Gump came out, and I suspect that half the reason my teacher created this project was so that he could listen to the film's soundtrack over and over. That was the second biggest cop-out one of my teachers ever created, the first being my history teacher who showed us a video series (12 parts!) on WWII. The worst part about that one? He pretended to show real anger when he caught half the class playing Uno during video #8.
