The Long Walk Home

The most important consideration when taking a long walk in the freezing cold or a gargantuan snowstorm is what album you will listen to. When the next city block is a blurry mass of shifting white and your eyeballs freeze open, you can't be stopping every three minutes to skip a track. Tonight, before I walked home leaning into the wind, I spent a few minutes deciding on my personal soundtrack. I chose an album I hadn't heard start to finish in several years, but found I still remembered every detail and, most important, I had no need to unzip my coat to skip a song or change albums and expose myself to the elements and certain death.
