Northern Storm Prep
People in the North love to laugh at the ineptitude of people in the South when it comes to dealing with snow storms. They get a dusting of a few inches in the South and entire states have to shutdown. The truth is that Southern cities have no infrastructure for dealing with any amount of snow, so it does mess things up. But here's something the South doesn't know about the North: they have a major upper hand in storm preparedness/not-freaking-out. Whenever it looks like a winter storm is going to descend on the Northern region, people flood grocery stores and strip shelves as if they're stocking fallout shelters for the Cuban Missile Crisis. In the South, people take their dogs for walks and go kite boarding in hurricanes.
