Biking to Work and Living Longer...or Not

I read a fantastic article in the paper that examined whether or not you'll extend your life by biking to work every day. On one hand you get exercise, which has been proven to extend your life, but on the other hand you risk your life on a daily basis and each time you bike to work there's a small chance you'll end up as part of department of transportation spreadsheet about cyclist deaths. Actually, I can't say if the article was fantastic because I never read it, but the headline was sure great. It gave me a lot to think about, mostly concerning how I should not read the article since regardless of what it says, I'll continue biking to work. Even if there's a chance that ride will end with car doors and oncoming traffic, at least my quality of life has been that much better.
