Mexican Standoff

I compared something to a 'Mexican standoff' in a meeting the other day. A Mexican standoff is something you see in the movies once in a while. It's where every person has a gun and is pointing it at another person, so if one person shoots, they all start shooting. Right after I said 'Mexican standoff,' I thought, "Hey, is that a racist saying?" It certainly sounds racist. Then I began thinking about other sayings and considered that "the pot calling the kettle black" sounds racist, too. I heard counselors at the summer camp where I used to work use it all the time, but that doesn't mean it's not racist -- those guys could be racist as hell for all I know.
