Meal Plan
My cousin works at a lab that analyzes common foods for bacteria. The studies are done at the requests of food manufacturers in accordance with governmental requirements. He couldn't share any of the food makers with me as all of the tests are confidential, but now when I go grocery shopping I feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette. Apparently many of these foods regularly fail the tests, but what's worse is they test positive for bacteria and viruses that the lab isn't supposed to be looking for. His lab will let the manufacturer know that their product is loaded with salmonella, but they don't want to know since they aren't required to test for it (and cooking should kill that bacteria anyway). My cousin says mealtime has changed for him since he's effectively learned too much. He didn't touch much meat-based food while at my house, but the good news is he still ate cheese.
