My doctor told me that if I wanted to lower my cholesterol I should avoid something called the King's Diet. He meant to simplify my eating choices by putting this stake in the ground for me. He said avoid things a king would eat: pheasant, pate, expensive vegetables like asparagus. Here's the thing, I've never eaten pheasant or pate and avoiding vegetables sounds crazy. His point was that I should avoid expensive, rich foods like foie gras and creme brule, but I don't even like that stuff. Based on my knowledge of feudal Europe and king diets, I should be in great shape.
