Plane Heart Attack

My friend was on a flight from New York to Paris, and about halfway through the overnight flight a man had a heart attack. The plane's staff helped him and there was a doctor on board. They established that he would likely be fine but needed to get to a hospital as quickly as possible. That was when everyone on the plane who was still awake felt the plane bank to the left and begin to turn around. The plane landed back in New York about five hours after takeoff, and an ambulance took the man to a hospital. The refueled the plane and set out for Paris again. I wasn't on the plane, but I suspect that people who woke up back in New York to the news that they were not in Paris did not have many well wishes for the man who had the heart attack. And really, couldn't the heart attack victim have gone to the hospital in Paris. I'm sure the food there is better.
