It's the time of year that if I end up staying just a little bit late at work, I have to bike home in the dark. It's a dangerous time of year since each autumn I find the batteries in my bike lights dead, so that first evening ride or two home I make in stealth mode. We've had mild weather lately that's been a boon for cyclist commuters, and there are more on the road now than there's ever been this time of year. Though it would seem they've all forgotten their lights as well. Combine that with all of us staring into the headlights of oncoming traffic and all of the sudden you have a bunch of blind cyclists riding around without any of their own lights on. It's the first time I've been more scared of getting rundown by a biker than a driver.
