Wine Tasting

I had a glass of wine at a bar after work today, which is a pretty rare event for me. When I drink wine it's usually because I've found a half-drank bottle in my refrigerator after a party. The thing I hate about wine is that people compare the way it tastes to things like "oak leaves on a damp autumn day" and "wet leather." I don't want my drink to taste like either of those things, and even when I drink wine that people describe in such a hyperbolic way, it always tastes like grape juice that's gone bad. And tonight, the woman next to me at the bar described her wine as tasting like "cow heart" over and over, to anyone who would listen. My problem with wine is that people are driven to describe it in the most obscure way possible. You don't get that kind of nonsense at a beer shop.
