First Snowfall Traditions

The first snowfall of winter came today, and on the first snowfall each year I think of my friend John. In grade school we had to write about traditions in our family, and he wrote that his mom makes doughnuts the first snowfall of each winter. A fine tradition, I thought. Only later I was talking to his mom, and she told me that the last two times she made doughnuts it just happened to snow. A mere coincidence. So now my personal tradition on the first snowfall of each year is to reflect on the coincidence that it snows every time John's mom makes doughnuts, and then think about how much I'd like to eat doughnuts.
