The Armageddon Machine

I've discovered that there is no better time in the world to be a cyclist than in the aftermath of a natural disaster. While everyone else is waiting in line at gas stations or walking miles and miles over bridges and surface streets to get to work, it's business as usual for us. And there's a strange camaraderie among us. Today a group of bikers gathered on a burned out corner talking about the only coffee shops that were open around town. If you can ignore for a moment the supremely stereotypical conversation regarding open coffee shops, it's a heartening notion to know that strangers and bikers are coming together.
