One of my favorite radio DJs is this goofy woman on a public radio show that plays modern rock. She shares stories about her crazy cats and her husband's odd hobbies. Her voice seldom rises or falls beyond a very mellow, sleep-inducing lull. But other day I jumped when she started yelling and shouting with a base, pure hatred for something I didn't catch. It turns out that this woman's issue is soap in her coffee mug. It enrages her. I thought about it, and I don't think I've ever had a soapy coffee mug. But then I thought about it a bit more and realized I have no idea what soap tastes like, but sometimes my coffee tastes really, really bad and I can't figure out why. Tomorrow I'm going to put a shot of dish soap into my morning cup, just to see what it's like. That's why I like this DJ, always getting me to try new things.
