Name Pronunciations

The worst thing you can do to your kid as a parent is to give them a normal name but tell them it's pronounced in a non-conventional way. For example, if you name your child Luther, and tell him and everyone that it's pronounced La-THOR. When you do this to your child it means that every time they meet anyone new, their first conversation will be about how to pronounce their name. There's no way that this will not affect their lives in profound ways, spilling over into all aspects of their personal relationships.
