Lost Umbrella

If I take an umbrella to a bar or restaurant and the rain stops before I leave, it's a guarantee that I'll leave that umbrella hanging on the back of my chair. I've lost dozens of the things. I'm sure my condition is not unique. Restaurants must scoop up armloads of umbrellas on rainy evenings. My friend's dad suffers from the same affliction, and he said he thinks it's widespread. His idea is to have a note etched on each of his umbrellas that says, "If you found this, I lost it. Don't bother returning it, just send $1 to this address, and you can keep it." His logic is that each umbrella will get lost and found so many times, that for each one he loses, he'll make hundreds of dollars.
