Going home at Thanksgiving is tough. Airlines charge way more, and if you're heading home for Christmas you end up making two trips in a short amount of time. So this year I went home over Halloween. The weather in Wisconsin was much nicer, and I was able to spread trips out a bit. And the best part: we celebrated Thanksgiving early by having a great traditional dinner with all the usual fixings. But in the past couple days, friends have mentioned several items to me that are time pegged around Thanksgiving. One's parents' are selling their house, the other is planning a trip. When they told me, my first thought was immediately, "Oh nice, so your parents are in their new place?" or "Great, how did the trip go?" I'm sure I'll get over it once it happens 10 or 12 more times.
