Weights and Egos

It occurred to me the other day at the gym that the manufactures of weights could make all weights the same size. As it is now, the bigger the weight is, the more it weighs. This makes sense, but the people who make weights could simply use denser materials to make the heavier weights. The technology exists. I thought about starting my own weight-manufacturing business, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that people don't want their weights to be the same size. Those huge men and women who do curls with 200lb weights want everyone to see how big they are. And people like me who have to walk to the end of the rack and pick up 10lb weights to hurl around aren't the biggest weight-buying market. No, people like me just have to lift the small weights and get satisfaction out of knowing we have egos that can handle it.
