I created an ebay account about 12 years ago. I haven't used it to buy or sell anything in the last 11 years, but I've identified a trinket that is of utter uselessness to me but could be of enormous value to the right person, so I'm going to try to sell it on ebay. I'm trying to login and sell this thing, but I've run into a few problems. Not only do I not know my password or username, but I also have no idea what email address I used to set it up. If it was my old university or hotmail account, those relics of a bygone era have long since been dismantled. Ebay has outlived both of them; it's ancient in internet years. And when I consider the possibility that I even linked ebay to my aol account, I feel like an old timer reminiscing how things were before electricity came to town.
