When friends send me a copy of their resume and ask me to pass it along for a job, I always look at it and then save a copy. I love reading about what my friends have been up to in bulleted lists, and then when I need to dust off my own resume, I always have a file full of inspiration. Plus, since most of the people asking me for professional recommendations used to work with me, I have access several lists of things I used to do that I forgot about. I don't know anyone who likes working on their resume, which is odd since most people I know work in marketing, and a resume is the most important marketing document you'll ever produce. I know I hate working on it, I find it so boring, even though it's all about me.
