I hadn't seen my buddy Sam in three years and we met for a drink in Seattle. He'd arrived at the bar before me, his jacket hanging on the back of a chair. The exact same one I was wearing. Grey, Patagonia hoody with a yellow zipper. I wear it every day all winter, and I've only ever seen one other person who had it. I was biking at the time, we made eye contact and he yelled at me, "Oh man! You thought you were the only one who had that jacket!" It was true. They must have been very unpopular jackets.
